Deflated, but NOT Defeated

Its been a little over three hours since my kick off post and I felt it necessary to take a few minutes and share how quickly things can change.

Isn't it amazing how in the quiet hours of the early morning you can feel so energized and ready to take on anything, but as soon as the kids wake up and start demanding your time and energy you are left to wonder if you were just fooling yourself?! Ha!

This is my life! I have six children ages 14-6...currently my two oldest are at camps, my 12 year old is recovering from a reconstructive surgery on his foot, my 10 year old Aspie is going through some emotional battles, and then there are my two girls who live for fun and entertainment on a nonstop basis. Ha! Life is busy in my house and when everyone is home it is ME who they need. Don't get me  wrong, I LOVE LOVE LOVE being their mom, but it literally takes everything out of me. This is the reason I have to make time for myself. So as my kids watch a tv show I needed to vent my frustrations and clear my head so I can get back to giving them the best of me.

I have found that time out is a much needed respit for me and have often told my kids that I need a break to collect my thoughts. Of course these time out breaks do not happen frequently or even last very long. I can't leave a room without someone hunting me down :) There is no safe place in my house....they always find me. HAHA!

Seriously, it's okay to take a minute or more to collect yourself and get your mind right before going back into the chaos that is motherhood. Happy Monday Moms!!
